Happy 3 Years!

10/10/12 Happy Anniversary

3 Whole Years have come and gone. We have had our tough times but Jason and I both feel very grateful for all the blessings in our lives. We both have such tremendous families. They give us such love and support and have made us the people we are today.

For our Anniversary my mom got us a 2 night say at Meadow Lake Resort near Kalispell. It was nice to just get away for a few days and leave the work and stress of life behind us. We lazed around on Sunday and then Monday we spent the day shopping. For dinner we ate at Famous Daves which was deliciious. The ride down to Meadow Lake was so beautiful. The leaves on the trees were all changing colors and with the snow in the background it sure made for beautiful scenery.

On our actual Anniversary Day we spent the night in, had a nice dinner and then watched a movie. I love Jason more every day. We both get frustrated at each other somedays but we communicted and compromise very well. I can not imagine my life with anyone else. 3 years have come and gone so quickly. Heres to many more.

Even though we said no gifts, Jason came home with flowers. There were so beautiful.

A day at the Makarenko Cottage

Sunday morning we got up, had breakfast with Jason's dad, said our good-byes and were off. We went to church and then headed out to the cottage/cabin where Jason's mom was. She traveled with us to Vernon to visit her parents and Ralph. Sara, John, Robin and Casey were also there visiting for a few weeks. We spent the afternoon with them, had a fabulous hamburger off the grill from John and played some darts. We took some family pictures of the family at the cottage. What a beautiful place it is out there and so relaxing. We wish we lived closer to be able to visit more often.

Papa doing some reading

Nana doing her thing.... busy busy busy.... always on the move
Uncle Ralph and Jason playing some darts. Both Jason and Ralphy got bullseye during their game.

Robin and Casey entertaining themselves at the Cabin. I must mention that they are fabulous dish washers too. Those girls are so fun and full of energy. Always fun to see them. We were just missing Morgan for the day.

On the Road again. On our way home. FUN TIMES on the road :)

Celebration of Laurie's Life

Sad times hit the Gourlie family last month. Jason's step-mom passed away suddenly a few weeks ago. She had knee surgery and a few weeks later had complications. She got a blood clot and was rushed into the hospital but it was too late. The blood clot started in her leg and went up to her brain. It has been very difficult on Jason's dad and Laurie's daughter and family. Both Jason and I didn't know Laurie all that well but she always made us feel comfortable when we came for a visit. She has a wonderful daughter Lorellie and son in law Jim and their children Dallas, Ashley and Tony. It was nice to see them again as well.
Instead of having a funeral Barry decided to have a Celebration of Laurie's Life. It entailed a garden party with friends and family. They had an Elvis impersonator there because Laurie loved Elvis music. It was a nice afternoon and just what Laurie would have wanted. It was great to see Jason's Uncle Brian and Maggie. We also got to spend the day with his cousins Angela and Sher and Chris. It was nice to be there to support Jason's dad and to see family and friends.

                                                                         Work it Ang :)

Laurie & Barry on our Wedding Day

Thank you Laurie for being so kind to Jason and I and welcoming us into your home.
You will be missed by your friends and family.

Happy 60th To Jason's Mom

This year Jason's mom had a big birthday - 60 WHOLE YEARS!!!
We spent the morning at the temple. I was with the youth in the baptistry and Jason and his mom did a session together. It was our ward temple day so after the temple we had about 40 members of the Riverstone Ward over to my parents house for lunch. It was a wonderful morning to spend at the temple.
That afternoon we had a party for Jasons Mom. The Belmont Stakes was on that day so we each picked our horse and sat down for the fun event. Jason's mom actually picked the winning horse. Too bad she didn't have any money on it :)

Birthday Cake with a picture of her when she was younger.

Just the 3 of us :)

Awww - she loves her boy!

What a fun filled day. Here is to another 60 years of happiness. Thanks Mom/Judi for being so wonderful. Thank you for all your love and support. Happy Birthday
